On behalf of the International Committee, we are delighted to invite you to attend the 12th International Conference on the Maternal Child Health Handbook, to be held August 24-26, 2022 at the University of Amsterdam, in the Netherlands.

The Conference on the MCH Handbook is a biennial International Conference. From more than 40 countries in the world, professionals, with various backgrounds, including public health specialists, NGO/NPO, policy makers, will attend the Conference and share their knowledge. Cross-learning between countries is key. The Conference offers excellent opportunities to learn from the latest research and practice, to network with experts and colleagues from different countries and to expand your professional horizons in the field of preventive public health care for children and their parents (to be).

Every child in the world deserves a ‘Promising Start for a Solid Future’ and this will be the overall theme of this conference, because where you are born should not make a difference in today’s world. Every child should have the right to be born and grow up in happy and healthy surroundings.

Pregnant woman and partners need information to ensure optimum conditions for their child’s development and for their own health. Also, professionals are needed to support parents and help them whenever possible or to direct them to additional care. But how can we reach all parents? For example, those who are less educated or illiterate or who live far away from health professionals?

With pleasure, we invite every professional that can contribute or those who work with parents (to be). We also invite researchers, professionals on child development, healthcare workers, or policy-makers. We are all needed to support the parent-to-be as well as we can to ensure the child will get that advantageous start!

Abstracts will be invited for workshops, single presentations and poster presentations about all areas of preventive care research, practice and policy.

We are also pleased to announce that the MCH Handbook Conference will take place in one of the most stunning cities in the world – Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Amsterdam is a safe, modern, multicultural city with vibrant local arts and culture scenes.

We look forward to welcoming you to Amsterdam in August 2022!
